Added ‘Grouping by Status’ in the Comments View.

Added the ability to customize snapping from the ‘Snap’ command drop-down and to customize a snapshot from the ‘Snapshot’ command drop-down.

Added an ‘Add from Bookmark’ option to the ‘Edit Action List’ when setting link targets giving the ability to add a ‘Go to Page’ action using a ‘link target’ taken from a bookmark.

Added the ability to create custom stamps.

Added an extension to the Adobe Acrobat JS API.

Allows regional settings to influence decimals used in calibration.

Added the ability in the Measurement Calibration dialog, to use a localized decimal separator as well as the period (.) character.

That section of my review has therefore been removed. The browser plug-in no longer works in modern browsers, which have moved away from NPAPI support. I am still finding my way around the host of new features and changes, but I will update this page when I have had time to use the new version more and familiarise myself with the changes. The free PDF-XChange Editor replaced the free PDF-X-Changer Viewer several years ago.

Reported bugs are often fixed in the next release.

Unlike other software companies, they don’t rely primarily on other end-users to provide support. Their responsiveness to users via their support forum is exemplary. The developers continue to add new features and fix bugs, releasing regular updates. It is very customisable too, so if you don’t like the defaults, many things can be modified. PDF-XChange has some very nice features not found in Adobe Reader, but where it matters it follows the familiar shortcuts and layout of the established market leader.
